Rebecca Ayre Stealey AGNP-C, BSN

Rebecca Ayre AGNP-C BSN obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013 through Loyola University’s ABSN (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program. She began work at Contemporary Medicine in November 2005, and enjoyed several years of being able to work closely with her father, Steven G. Ayre MD. She completed her bachelor’s degree in English and History at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois in 2001. After teaching at various grade levels from 2001- 2004, she returned to university at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville to complete Secondary Education Certification in Language Arts and History while serving as Director of Strawberry Hill Academy Daycare in St. Louis, MO. She is a member of the following organizations and has completed continuing education in the following:

  • Member of Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
  • Member of American Holistic Nursing Society
  • Completed ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Course through the Oncology Nursing Society
  • Completed Level One of Healing Touch through the Healing Touch Program
  • Completed Master’s of Science in Nursing through Loyola University’s Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with Oncology Specialty

Currently residing in Chicago, she enjoys finding the best local restaurants, shopping on etsy, and caring for our numerous plants. She completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing through Loyola University’s Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with Oncology Specialty in Summer of 2021.

Thomas L. Hesselink MD

Combining a passion for all things biochemical with a drive to help patients get the most out of medicine, Dr. Hesselink is a valued team member and Medical Director.

Dr. Hesselink received his B.A. in biochemistry from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and went on to attend the University of Illinois. He did his family practice residency program in Flint, Michigan. From 1978 to 1981 he provided nutritional and preventive services in Zion, Illinois. There he met other integrative practitioners, who introduced him to a wider variety of alternatives. These include: intravenous chelation therapy, alternative cancer therapies, clinical ecology, and Koch’s therapy.

He is a regular speaker at the International Oxidative Medical Association (IOMA) and American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM) conferences and workshops. These organizations review: hyperbaric oxygenation, ultraviolet hemo-irradiation, ozone, antioxidants, oxidative catalysts, hydrogen peroxide, megadose ascorbate, chlorine dioxide, sodium chlorite, iodine and related therapies. His focus, as a speaker, is on the explanations of the biochemistry of oxidative medicine and the appropriate application of antioxidants.

Michael Robinson, ND, MS, CNS

With a Masters in Clinical Nutrition and Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Robinson is able to expertly design dietary plans to support your body’s healing process, as well as prescribe targeted and specific nutritional supplements to build your body back up from the damaging processes of cancer, and correct deficiencies in biochemistry that have lead to the the bodies current disease state. As an expert in botanical medicine, Dr. Robinson utilizes herbs to target immune system stimulation as well as manage symptoms naturally with minimal side effects. Many patients come in on supplements that they actually should not be taking due to their diagnosis; Dr. Robinson also evaluates new patient’s current supplement regimens, to ensure not only that their regimens are comprehensive, but also dosed appropriately, and not overdone.
 
Dr. Robinson is passionate about changing the healthcare paradigm in America and is passionate about healthcare education. He holds faculty appointments at Lewis University, Harper College, Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and The Chicago School of Phlebotomy so that he can inspire future healthcare providers to utilize integrative medicine.
 
In addition to seeing patients at the Ayre Clinic, he maintains a private practice in Downers Grove with a focus on helping those with Autoimmune Conditions.           Kristine Hanafi

In addition to acting as Medical Assistant, Lab manager, and Billing Specialist at Contemporary Medicine, she also teaches phlebotomy technician certification courses and an EKG class at an area training school.

Ms. Hanafi joined the Contemporary Medicine Team back in September 2005. She is a certified phlebotomist, having completed certification at the Career Academy in Chicago, Illinois. She then served for eight years as a cardiac technician and Practice Manager at Darien Medical. Our patients love her sense of humor and endless knowledge.
